One-night skiing tour to the middle of Arctic nature
This one-night and two-day skiing trek will take you to the middle of Arctic nature, ancient forests, fells, and clean snowy landscape. During this tour, we either pull sleds or carry backpacks. The trek will take you across varying landscapes from fell tops to ancient forests covered in deep snow.
We will spend the night in a tent wrapped up in our warm sleeping bags in safe environment (optionally in a wilderness hut). We use high quality equipment, which are designed for extreme conditions. Through this trip, you will get to know the Arctic environment and nature, and learn how to survive in these conditions.
The trek is aimed at people, who would like to experience a winter trek and challenge themselves. During the tour we will travel about 20 km. We shall spend the night in a tent ( or in a hut) and prepare the meals by an open fire or camping stove. This is an excellent opportunity to leave the busy life behind and breath the cleanest air in the world. In other words, to stop.
During this tour we do not have running water or electricity, but instead we will enjoy the silence and gain unforgettable experiences. The trek will prepare you for future winter treks.
Please note that the sled or the backpack will weigh about 20-30kg and we will travel about 10 km in wilderness on both days. The treks do not require a top fitness level, but a good general physical condition is a prerequisite. In this way, you can enjoy yourself without the trek getting too strenuous. Please, not that weather can change quickly in Lapland. Clear and nice weather can rapidly change into freezing temperatures and strong north wind.
The temperatures vary from zero degrees Celsius to -30C.
backcountry skis, poles, skiing shoes, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, camping stove, backpack or sled. Meals: breakfast (x1), lunch (x2) and dinner (x1) and a local guide.
The trip includes the transport in the Ylläs region. We will pick you up and return you to your accommodation. Please, do not hesitate to contact me concerning the trek, gear, or anything else.

My Company provide guided tours in Ylläs
with same Wilderness Guide
My name is Jussi Pusa and I am your guide in all the trips. I have several years of experience of outdoors in the Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian Lapland. I have been enjoying the outdoors since I was a child. Wilderness is a passion for me, and therefore I wish to spend the rest of my life near nature and help other people to enjoy the silence and diversity of the wild. In the great outdoors, I have time to rest and breath and really see what is going on around me. In other words, to stop.
During the summer of 2018 I travelled alone across the eight most isolated and northern wilderness areas in Finland. It took me 36 days to cover 750 km. During this trek I saw and experienced a great deal, also about myself. I wish to teach about these experiences and lessons-learnt to other people during these trips.
