This day trip to Aakenus fell offers you unique experience on BC skis. We will find our own path to the fell through the wilderness, away from the maintained tracks and routes. BC skis which we use, will carry us on the untouched snow and also give us grip while skiing on the fell.
Aakenus fell, the destination of our trip is one of the greatest fells of the region. Shape of Aakenus is long ridge form, offering phenomenal 360 scenery. Definitely worth of exploring for everyone visiting Ylläs area. This trip takes you to the wilderness of Pallas-Ylläs Nationalpark and into its unique and arctic nature, providing an experience of a lifetime.
We’ll be roaming in the wild 10-15km during this day trip. The trip doesn’t demand ultimate fitness, but generally good physical condition is required. This way we make sure you can enjoy the trip and nature. During the trip I’ll be introducing the nationalpark, its nature and history. I’ll also introduce demands and ways of winter expeditioning and survival techniques.
It’s important to keep in mind that weather conditions may change rapidly up here in Lapland. Good weather may turn into crispy minus degrees and heavy North wind, demanding us to be prepared for these possible changes.

My Company provide guided tours in Ylläs
with same Wilderness Guide
My name is Jussi Pusa and I am your guide in all the trips. I have several years of experience of outdoors in the Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian Lapland. I have been enjoying the outdoors since I was a child. Wilderness is a passion for me, and therefore I wish to spend the rest of my life near nature and help other people to enjoy the silence and diversity of the wild. In the great outdoors, I have time to rest and breath and really see what is going on around me. In other words, to stop.
During the summer of 2018 I travelled alone across the eight most isolated and northern wilderness areas in Finland. It took me 36 days to cover 750 km. During this trek I saw and experienced a great deal, also about myself. I wish to teach about these experiences and lessons-learnt to other people during these trips.
